Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty, sexy, & you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be & who you want to spend it with.
You have to stand for what you believe in. And sometimes you have to stand alone.
Everyone, at some point in their lives, wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that they are all alone in the world, and that nobody loves them now and that nobody will ever love them, and that they will never have a decent night’s sleep again and will spend their lives wandering blearily around a loveless landscape, hoping desperately that their circumstances will improve, but suspecting, in their heart of hearts, that they will remain unloved forever. The best thing to do in these circumstances is to wake somebody else up, so that they can feel this way, too.
I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they go right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together.
We’re not only wired to want what we can’t have, but we’re also wired to want what we really don’t want.
If you hear a song that makes you cry and you don’t want to cry anymore, you don’t listen to that song anymore. But you can’t get away from yourself. You can’t decide not to see yourself anymore. You can’t decide to turn off the noise in your head.

I miss you even more than I could have believed; and I was prepared to miss you a good deal. So this letter is just really a sequel of pain. It is incredible how essential to me you have become.
It’s the rule of life that everything you have always wanted comes the very second you stop looking for it.
And, well, some they wish me well.
And some became my enemies.
And some I told to go to hell.
And some still haunt me in my dreams.
Some still haunt me in my dreams.
Mr. Moonlight won’t you take the rain away?
And leave me with the hope of a better day.
No, sunshine don’t you let me frown.
I’ve heard the grass is always greener,
On the lovers side of town.

The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be.
